Renovation of a military facility in Newport, Rhode Island. Completed plans call for the renovation of a military facility.
The work includes replacement of the existing rooftop cooling towers at Building 1320. Construction consists of removing the existing rooftop cooling towers and installing new cooling towers adjacent to the existing location. The work must be carefully phased because the existing cooling towers serve critical laboratory spaces that cannot be taken offline for extended periods. The contractor shall strictly adhere to the phasing and sequencing requirements identified in the drawings and specifications to maintain continuous operations. The project also includes installation of new structural supports for the cooling towers, modifications to the electrical distribution system to provide power to new chillers, and all associated pump, piping, and ancillary system modifications necessary to deliver a complete and fully operational cooling system.
