This project includes, but is not limited to, pavement removal; pulverization; earth excavation; preparation of base; storm sewer improvements; curb and gutter/sidewalk removal and replacement at various locations; hot mix asphalt binder and surface course(s); pavement patching; traffic control and protection; and restoration at Isaac Fox Elementary School, Middle School South, and the High School in the Village of Lake Zurich. All bids must be accompanied by bid security in the form of cash, certified check, or bid bond made payable to the Owner in the amount of not less than ten percent (10%) of the aggregate bid as a guarantee that if the bid is accepted, a contract will be entered into and the performance of the contract properly secured. The successful bidder is required to furnish Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the bid amount, with sureties approved by the Owner and in the required form. The successful bidder must pay the general prevailing wage for work under this contract as determined by the Illinois Department of Labor, and must submit certified payroll records in compliance with the Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130) and bidding requirements. State of Illinois, Department of Transportation, Contractor Pre-Qualification and Subcontractor Registration is required. A Special Provision for time of completion is included in the contract.
