Partial Roof Replacement at Freetown Fire Station No. 3. Remove and replace existing asphalt shingle roof. Location and Work to be Done The Work consists of the Partial Roof Replacement Project at Freetown Fire Station #3 The project is located at 25 Bullock Road East Freetown, MA 02717 and all work incidental thereto, in accordance with the Specifications and conceptual plans attached hereto. Additional drawings showing details in accordance with which the Work is to be donemay be furnished by addendum from time to time during the bidding period by the Owner or its Architect/Engineer and shall then become a part of the Contract Documents. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, services, materials, equipment, plant, machinery,apparatus, appliances, tools, supplies, disposal of demolished materials and all other things necessary to do all work required for the completion of each item of the Work and as herein specified. The Work to be done and paid for under any item shall not be limited to the exact extent mentioned or described but shall include all incidental work necessary or customarily done for the completion of that item. A. The Work under this Section includes the complete removal and replacement of the existing asphalt shingle roofing system at the existing building. The newly constructed addition, which has a recently installed roofing system, is not included in the base roof replacement scope except where noted. B. Work shall include, but is not limited to, the following: 1. Removal and proper disposal of all existing roofing materials, underlayment, flashings, and associated components at the existing building. 2. Installation of new asphalt shingle roofing system, including underlayment and accessories, in accordance with the Contract Documents. 3. Installation of ice and water shield at all roof valleys and other required locations. 4. Replacement of all ridge vents. 5. Removal and replacement of existing HVAC roof penetrations vents as indicated on the Drawings. 6. Removal and disposal of existing antenna and all associated components from the roof. 7. Installation of new flashing systems at all roof penetrations and transitions, including but not limited to plumbing vents, chimneys, and HVAC vents. 8. Coordination of all work to ensure a watertight roofing system. 9. Obtain all required permits. Town of Freetown Permits fee will be waived. 10. Smoking is not permitted on site or in buildings/facilities. 11. The Work must be completed in a continuous uninterrupted operation. The Contractor must use sufficient personnel and adequate equipment to complete all the necessary Work requirements within a minimum period of time. 12. Only materials and/or equipment intended and necessary for immediate use shall be brought into the Project area. At the end of each workday and at the completion of each phase of Work, equipment and leftover or unused materials shall be removed from the area. 13. The Contractor shall be responsible for all labor, materials, equipment, and disposal necessary to complete the Work. Completion- May 30, 2026.
