Removing and re-installing pumping equipment, refurbishing of reused equipment, well cleaning, redevelopment, and disinfection of Millbrook Well #2 in the City of Greenfield, MA. The project consists of the following work: a. Before any work is done, record static water level, pumping water level, pumping rate, drawdown, and specific capacity. b. Remove and re-install roof access hatch. c. Remove and re-install pumping equipment. d. Furnish and install new equipment as authorized by City and as set forth in the technical specifications. Refurnish any equipment that is to be reused. e. Furnish and install new well draw down measuring tube and connect tube to existing altitude gauge. f. Redevelop well to maximum specific yield capacity, including cable tool surging, pumping, and chemical treatment if required. g. Disinfect cleaned well and re-install pumping equipment. h. All clean-up, necessary exterior surface repairs, and interior and exterior restoration. i. After completion of all work, record static water level, pumping water level, pumping rate, drawdown, and specific capacity In general, no answers will be given to prospective bidders in reply to an oral question if the question involves an interpretation of the intent or meaning of the Drawings or other Contract Documents, or the equality or use of products or methods other than those designated or described on the drawings or in the specifications. To receive consideration, such questions shall be submitted in writing to the City at least 7 days before the established date for receipt of bids. If the question involves the equality or use of products or methods it must be accompanied by drawings, specifications or other data in sufficient detail to enable the City to determine the equality or suitability of the product or method. In general, the City will neither approve nor disapprove particular products prior to the opening of Bids; such products will be considered when offered by the Contractor for incorporation into the Work.
