Site work and paving for a civil project in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and water / sewer project.
The public improvement generally consists of asphalt milling, pavement patching, curb and gutter replacement, storm sewer intake and sanitary manhole replacement or adjustment, water main replacements and valve adjustments, ADA curb ramps, and associated work in preparation for HMA overlay by City forces at seventeen specified project locations. The bid is on a unit price basis. Each bidder must accompany their bid with bid security in the amount of five percent of the bid, and the successful bidder will be required to furnish a corporate surety bond for one hundred percent of the contract amount. Items in the project are exempt from State of Iowa and Local Option Sales and Use Taxes, and the contractor is responsible for obtaining the exemption. All contractors and subcontractors must have a drug and alcohol testing policy and will be required to submit an acknowledgement attesting to this practice. There is preference for products and provisions produced within Iowa and for Iowa domestic labor as required by law. Bids must be submitted online before the stated deadline. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive informalities and technicalities, and to enter into contracts as deemed in the best interest of the City. No pre-bid conference is scheduled. Bidding documents can be obtained online or at specified locations. The bid shall contain no condition except as provided in the specifications.
