The scope of work includes abatement of property maintenance violations that go beyond what the City can handle, such as removal and proper disposal of brush, accumulated leaves, and dead limbs, and removal and proper disposal of dead trees. Not less than the prevailing hourly rate of wages shall be paid to all workmen performing under this contract in this area according to the rates determined by the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations of the State of Missouri. The successful bidder shall comply with requirements including on-site employees completing the ten-hour Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Construction Safety Program, as approved by OSHA or a similar program. For any contract greater than $5,000, the successful bidder shall provide a sworn affidavit affirming they do not knowingly employ unauthorized aliens and participate in a federal work authorization program with respect to the employees working in connection with this contract. The required documentation must be from the federal work authorization program provider. A letter from contractors reciting compliance is not sufficient. The City reserves the right to accept or reject any bid and to waive any irregularities in the best interest of the City. A bid may be withdrawn any time prior to the deadline by written notification, and may be resubmitted with any modifications, prior to the deadline.
