The Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe is seeking proposals from qualified service providers for a pilot aeration unit as part of planning improvements at the Inger water treatment plant. The plant treats source water containing methane and high levels of manganese and iron, and existing aeration and pumping equipment is not suited for high-iron water, leading to frequent fouling and maintenance. A new pilot unit is required to test alternative aeration methods capable of handling oxidized iron particles and removing methane before filtration. The pilot unit will be operated for up to three months by Indian Health Service and Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe staff, but maintenance and troubleshooting assistance from the provider is required. Proposals should detail the pilot unit equipment, operational instructions, unit availability timeline, cost, and include technical support throughout the test period.
