A timeline for the award has not yet been established.** Question Deadline 04/01/2026 at 5:00 PM ET Questions regarding this solicitation must be submitted through the project's Q&A section by this deadline. A. Plant and supply trees, palms, shrubs, and groundcover at various locations. All plants must be healthy, Florida Grade #1 quality or better, weed free, and meet the minimum standards on the quote form. All single stem trees shall have a straight leader and should have a full, dense canopy based on the species. Plants shall be watered in, until thoroughly established. Plants that die from lack water, or other reason, during the warranty period must be replaced at no cost under the warranty. The contractor will not be responsible for vehicular damage or vandalism. B. Each tree/palm and shrub/groundcover shall have mulched applied over the planted area with a three (3) inch depth, meeting the standards listed below. Mulch shall be Grade #1 non cypress mulch. Color shall match adjacent landscaped areas. Mulch shall consist of shredded wood chips, be uniform in color, be free of invasive plant seeds, dirt, twigs and debris such as plastic and rocks. Mulch must not contain arsenic materials and must be pulled back two inches form each plant to prevent moisture build up. C. The plants shall be provided and installed within 30 days of the request from the Town of Davie. An effort will be made to request multiple plants each time, however in some cases, individual trees will be ordered, particularly in the case of automobile accident sites. D. All trees/palms must be staked either with 2"x 4" or larger wooden supports, or Wellington tape, or similar strapping material, using industry standards. Tape or strapping material shall be covered with six inches of 1" diameter PVC pipe at ground level to prevent weed eater damage during maintenance activities. Bamboo, and metal staking, along with green nursery tape shall be removed from trees prior to planting, unless authorized to remain by the Project Manager. The contractor shall also be responsible to remove and dispose of the staking when requested to do so by the Town. This is anticipated to be 6 months to one year after planting. E. A line item for "labor hours" is included in the quote form to use "as needed" to remove excessive undesirable existing plants, and/or prepare the site when conditions are determined by the Town to be unusual and require a minimum of thirty (30) minutes of additional unexpected labor, such as removing large amounts of well-established existing plants, which could not have been anticipated beforehand. The disposal of removed plants, excess soil or any other material removed from each site shall be paid by the contractor at no additional cost to the Town. This rate shall only be invoiced if approved by the Town prior to commencing the work. F. Plant sizes are minimum standards, however if much larger sizes are brought to the site, they may not be accepted. They will be required to be of similar size to adjacent trees and plants of the same species in the area in order to provide a consistent and uniform look. In this situation, the determination will be at the discretion of the Town Plants must be supplied and installed within 30 days of the Town's request, with individual trees sometimes required, especially after automobile incidents. Trees and palms must be staked using proper materials and methods, with staking to be removed and disposed of when requested by the Town. Labor hours may be used "as needed" for removal of excessive undesirable plants or site preparation for unusual site conditions, with all disposal costs included. Plant sizes must be consistent with adjacent species unless otherwise approved by the Town. Bidders must submit satisfactory evidence of experience, organization, capital, and equipment to complete the work, and be licensed and insured as required. All work must comply with applicable laws and regulations. Equipment must be safe, and licensed/insured technicians must be supervised on-site. The contractor provides for storage and disposes of all waste at its own cost. If any property is damaged, it must be restored to original or better condition. Payment is authorized upon completion and approval of all work. Bids may only be submitted through the Procurement Portal, and addenda must be acknowledged. The Town may reject any or all bids at its discretion. The selection will be made in the Town's best interest and is final. Bidders must provide client references for similar work, detailed ownership disclosure, and full business information as required.
