Renovation of a mixed-use development in Chicago, Illinois. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a medical facility.
The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and services required to prepare identified areas on the Jesse Brown VA campus for deployment of Electronic Health Record equipment. Work includes installation of additional data drops, normal and emergency power outlets, and required equipment bracing in accordance with provided drawings, specifications, and the statement of work. The contractor is responsible for coordinating all work with existing electrical, mechanical, and architectural systems, verifying existing conditions, and resolving conflicts through reconfiguration or rework as necessary. All required wall, floor, ceiling, or other penetrations shall be performed, sealed, and restored to match original construction, fire rating, and finish at the contractor's expense. Existing devices affected by construction shall be protected, tested prior to removal if required, and reinstalled in their original locations. Electrical and telecommunications installations shall be adjusted as needed to accommodate furniture, modular systems, and equipment layouts, with receptacles flush mounted at existing heights unless otherwise noted and telecommunications outlets installed at 18 inches above finished floor to centerline, except where surface mounting is required. All equipment mounting shall avoid interference with access to and operation of existing electrical and mechanical systems, and any mounting to equipment provided by others shall receive prior approval. The contractor shall coordinate all outages and work in high-risk areas with the Contracting Officer's Representative, obtain approval prior to any power shutdowns, and receive authorization for after-hours or weekend work. The contractor is responsible for verifying site accessibility and notifying the COR of any utility removals or relocations required to access work areas. Protection of adjacent devices, coordination with ongoing facility operations, and compliance with all contract documents are required throughout performance.
