Site work and paving for a road / highway in Siren, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
The work consists of pavement preservation on approximately 20 miles of county highways and includes scrub sealing, chip sealing, and fog sealing. The contractor must provide all labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals necessary for the treatments. For the scrub seal application, the contractor must supply and apply CRS-2 asphalt emulsion with CHESS oil additive using scrub seal equipment. For chip seal, the contractor is responsible for applying asphalt emulsion and coordinating operations according to industry standards. For fog seal, CSS-1HD50 asphalt emulsion must be applied after chip seal to seal the surface. The contractor must provide unit prices for each oil type, proposed application rate, and cost per gallon applied. The oil types to be bid are CRS-2 with CHESS oil additive for scrub seal and CSS-1HD50 for fog seal. Burnett County will supply traffic control, flagging, signage, and roadway sweeping. The contractor's responsibility is limited to application of emulsions and operation of specialized equipment for the treatments. Contractors are required to provide proof of insurance and demonstrate experience with chip sealing and pavement preservation operations.
