New construction of a fire / police facility in Farmer City, Illinois. Completed plans call for the construction of a 9,000-square-foot fire / police facility.

As of May 1, 2026, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established. Construct a new Fire House for the Farmer City Community Fire Protection District. The new building will be a fully sprinklered pre-engineered metal building with 6,000 square feet of apparatus space and 3,000 square feet of office/meeting space. Bids must include a properly completed Proposal Form in duplicate, a bid deposit in the amount of 10% of the bid, and not less than the prevailing wage rate as determined by the Illinois Department of Labor. All bidders must submit a notarized certification that the contractor is not barred from bidding as the result of a violation of Section 33 E3 or 33 E-4 of Article 33E, Public Act 85-1295. Bids must be accompanied by a bid bond, bank draft, certified check, or cashier's check in the amount of 10% of the bid, made payable to The Farmer City Fire Department. The successful bidder will be required to provide a Surety Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond, each equal to 100% of the contract cost on prescribed forms within ten days after notice of acceptance is issued by the owner. The Farmer City Fire Department reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities in bidding.
