Demolition, site work and paving for a civil project in Tisdale, Saskatchewan. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; bridge / tunnel; and bridge / tunnel.
Major work items include demolition and disposal of the existing 3 span timber bridge and timber deck, removal of piles to 1.5m below grade, and careful salvage and delivery of timber stringers and caps to Armley, SK. The project also involves installation of driven steel pipe piles, including Pile Dynamic Analysis Testing as a separate price, placement of concrete for piles, installation of precast concrete abutment caps and girders, precast concrete abutment backwalls and wing walls, excavation, loading, and hauling of cohesive clay and granular materials to the site, granular backfill for construction of abutments and wing walls, embankment excavation and regrading, installation of erosion control measures including rip-rap, seeding and erosion control blankets, fabrication and installation of bridge rails, removal of an existing CSP culvert west of the bridge, and associated roadwork to increase road elevation and re-grade the approaches and ditches on each side of the bridge as shown in the drawings. Tenders must be accompanied by a bid security in the form of a Bid Bond or certified cheque for 5% of the total payable by the owner. A Consent of Surety must accompany the bid to furnish a Performance Bond and Labour and Materials Payment Bond, each for 50% of the tendered price.
