Demolition and renovation of a fire / police facility in Gainesville, Georgia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 1,600-square-foot fire / police facility.
Providing all materials, equipment, and labor for Old Fire Station 9 interior demolition. SCOPE OF WORK: A. General Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, engineering coordination, and incidentals required to perform selective interior demolition at the Old Fire Station 9. Work shall be limited strictly to demolition of non-load-bearing interior areas and associated temporary re-support of existing systems as required to maintain structural integrity during demolition; and removal, relocating and resupporting certain existing mechanical components, as more specifically described. Contractor shall: 1. Provide protection for all adjacent areas and components against damage, dust, vibration, and debris during demolition activities. 2. Immediately notify Project Manager of unforeseen conflicts or conditions encountered during the work. Contractor must provide all required permits and any supporting documents required to obtain permits/inspection and certificate of occupancy upon completion of the work. Any fees associated with permitting or inspections shall be the responsibility of the Contractor. B. Pre-Demolition Requirements • Conduct a mandatory pre-demolition site walkthrough with the Project Manager and County representatives. • Verify and document: • Non-load-bearing wall locations • Systems to remain • Existing exterior signage lettering type and attachment method • Field verification is the contractor’s responsibility and shall not be grounds for any change orders. C. Demolition Scope Demolition area Approximately 1600 sq ft total, including both upstairs and downstairs. Demolish, remove, and dispose of all designated non-load-bearing interior partition walls, including framing, gypsum board, insulation, doors, frames, and finishes. • Contractor shall confirm and mark all walls as load bearing, non-load bearing or otherwise prior to demolition. Interior Rooms • Demolishinterior rooms as shownonthe attached photos or as directedby Project Manager, include demolition of ceilings, flooring, finishes, and casework within those rooms unless noted otherwise. • Remove abandoned utilities serving demolished areas, including but not limited to: • Electrical wiring, conduits, and junction boxes • Plumbing pipes and associated fixtures • Communication/data cables and low-voltage systems • HVAC ductwork and associated components Ceilings and Finishes • Remove and dispose of ceiling assembly and supports in demolition areas. • Stabilize and protect remaining adjacent construction. D. Exterior Signage Removal • Remove existing signage lettering from the front façade of the building as identified by Project Manager. • Removal shall include letters, fasteners, anchors, and adhesives. • Patch, fill, and prepare substrate at removal locations to a smooth, uniform condition suitable for future finishes. • No painting or new signage installation included unless otherwise noted.
