Renovation of a multi-residential development in Milford, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a multi-residential development.
Bids are invited for a Residential Housing Rehabilitation Project located at 18 Canterbury Lane, Milford, CT 06460. To submit a bid, attendance at the mandatory walk-through and signing in is required. Bid packages must be submitted to the City of Milford Department of Economic & Community Development in ink or typed, with no pencil entries accepted. Bids must include a signed General Conditions form, a conflict of interest statement, a W-9 form, at least one professional reference, and a contractor license as required by the State of Connecticut. Certified Lead Paint Renovation Firm credentials are also needed. If two bids are equal in price, quality, and service, preference is given to the bidder who includes a drug free workplace certification form in accordance with local ordinance. The City may review prior performance and reserves the right to reject bids based on previous records. Bids should not include State sales tax or Federal excise tax. The bid price cannot be revised after submission. Complete bid packages must be submitted by the stated deadline and may be mailed or emailed, but not faxed or sent by email alone. All relevant federal, state, and local regulations must be adhered to as certified by the contractor. Install new aluminum step flashing and lead counter flashing. o Install Owens Corning ProEdge(R) Hip & Ridge Shingles. o Install a new ridge vent. o Install new pipe and chimney flashings. Decking & Sheathing o Re-nail any loose existing decking. (Breezeway) o Install new Barricade Halo(R) rigid foam sheathing at breezeway enclosure with cap nails. Tape joints to ensure airtight seal. o Install new flashing. o Install 1 x 3 furring strips to accept siding. o Install new vinyl siding to best match existing structure. o Remove all existing guttering (Approx. 100', field verify) and downspouts. o Install new 5" K-Style guttering to replace existing. Color should be white. o Install new corresponding downspouts coinciding with manufacturer recommended layout. DIVISION 08: DOORS AND WINDOWS (Main Structure and Breezeway) o Remove all existing windows from main structure. o Insulate all cavities exposed during removals. o Install eleven (11) new Andersen 200-Series double hung windows in main structure. *Field-verify measurements. Color to be determined by homeowner. o Install two (2) new Andersen 200-Series Storm Doors and frames with standard hardware at front and back of breezeway. Color to be determined by homeowner. o Touch up paint and re-caulking to be administered as needed from residual damage caused by demolition/removal locations. ADD ALTERNATES: The following line items should be submitted as Add Alternate - 01 in addition to the contractor's Base Bid. DIVISION 03: CONCRETE (Main Structure Interior and Exterior Basement Walls) o Remove all loose, delaminated, and deteriorated materials in the exposed interior and exterior basement wall system where spalling is visible. o Saw cut areas deemed necessary to create a vertical, non-tapered edge. Minimal surface roughness profile of CSP 6 should be attained for optimal bond. o Clean the area to remove all contaminants. o Use pre-package, rapid-set hydraulic cement (sand and gravel blend) meeting ASTM C928. o Material should achieve a compressive strength of at least 5100 psi in seven (7) days and 6300 psi in twentyeight (28) days
