Sealed proposals are requested for asbestos removal and demolition of structures located at 821 Walnut Street within the city limits. Proposals must use specified forms. This is not a prevailing wage job. Contractors and subcontractors must provide a ten-hour Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Construction Safety Program (or a qualified substitute approved by the Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations) for onsite employees. Bidders must affirm enrollment and participation in a federal work authorization program and affirm they do not knowingly employ unauthorized aliens. Businesses owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals are encouraged to submit bids and will not be discriminated against. Performance and payment bonds are required if the project exceeds $50,000. Payment will be made upon completion of work and provision of acceptable lien waivers. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive irregularities, and to determine the most responsive and responsible bidder. The contract, if awarded, will be made to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder based on bid price with all alternates to be accepted.
