The City of College Park reserves the right to reject any or all bids based on past performance and to waive technicalities and informalities and re-advertise. The City of College Park is seeking sealed bids from qualified contractors for the resurfacing of three (3) community playgrounds utilizing tire-derived products (TOP) in accordance with funding received through the Georgia Department of Natural Resources Environmental Protection Division Tire-Derived Products Grant Program. This project incorporates recycled tire materials to provide safe, durable, ADA-accessible playground surfacing while diverting scrap tires from the waste stream as described in the City's TOP grant application. LOCATION o Subrenia Miller Willis Park- 2902 Camp Creek Pkwy, College Park, GA 30337 o Barret Park- 2001 Walker Avenue, College Park, GA 30337 o Badgett Stadium Playground- 3636 College St, College Park, GA, 30337 Total Surface area: Approximately 11,325 square feet SCOPE of SERVICE The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to complete the fallowing: o Removal and disposal of existing wood mulch and plastic perimeter edging o Installation of recycled rubber containment curbing o Removal of existing (if applicable) and installation of nonwoven geotextile stabilization fabric o Installation of minimum four (4) inch compacted #57 aggregate base o Installation of minimum three (3) inch recycled tire crumb rubber attenuation layer o Installation of five-eighths (5/8") polyurethane-bound colored SBR granule wear surface o Final grading and surf ace finishing to provide smooth and uniform transitions o Finished surfacing shall be flush with installed rubber containment curbing. Completion schedule may be considered in bid award. SITE PREPARATION Work includes minor site preparation necessary to accommodate installation of the specified playground surfacing system and to ensure finished surface elevations are flush with newly installed rubber containment curbing. Minor site preparation may include: o Removal of existing loose-fill materials o Surface leveling and reshaping within playground limits o Adjustment of subgrade elevations as required for proper system thickness o Minor cutting or filling necessary to achieve smooth transitions at curbing and adjacent surfaces Work assumes existing site grades are generally suitable for installation of the specified surfacing system.
