Project is no longer needed.** Sealed proposals are invited for the Forkland Public Safety Building to be received in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 13327 US-43, Forkland, AL 35740. A cashier's check or bid bond payable to the Town of Forkland for no less than five percent of the bid amount (but not more than $10,000) must accompany each proposal. Performance and Payment Bonds, as well as evidence of insurance as specified in the bid documents, are required at contract signing. Bid documents are available from TuscaBlue via www.ward-scottplans.com, with a $150 deposit per set, refundable in full for the first two sets to each trade contract bidder submitting a bona fide bid, upon return of the documents in good condition within ten days of the bid date. Additional sets and sets for dealers may be obtained with the same deposit, refundable less the cost of printing, reproduction, handling, and distribution. Electronic PDF copies are available free of charge. Bid bonds must be from a bonding company licensed to do business in the State and guarantee that the bidder will not withdraw their bid for sixty days after the bid deadline, will enter into a contract if accepted, and will be liable for the full amount of the bid guarantee as liquidated damages in the event of withdrawal or failure to sign the contract. Bids must be submitted on forms provided by the Architect or copies thereof. Bidders exceeding state licensing thresholds must be licensed as required under Alabama law and show evidence of such license by displaying the number on the sealed envelope. Nonresident bidders must provide a written legal opinion about their state's bid preference laws. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and waive technical errors if it promotes the Owner's best interests.
