Site work, new construction and renovation of a water / sewer project in Reform, Alabama. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; water / sewer project; for the construction of a water / sewer project; and for the renovation of a water / sewer project.

The project includes the rehabilitation of three existing sanitary sewer lift stations within the City of Reform. Each station will be upgraded with new Vaughan pumps and electrical control panels to restore pumping efficiency and prevent overflow conditions during periods of heavy rainfall. Work includes furnishing and installing new Vaughan Model SR4V Submersible Chopper Pumps (25 HP), Vaughan Model V3P Vertical Wet Well Pumps (20 HP), base elbow assemblies, aluminum access covers, duplex control panels, enclosures, electrical service connections, and all accessories and appurtenances needed for fully operational lift stations. After equipment replacement and construction, each site will be restored, and erosion control, final seeding, and grassing will be provided. The project also includes constructing one new sanitary sewer lift station near 6th Street SE in Reform, Alabama. This new lift station will have two 30 HP Vaughan Model SR4V Submersible Chopper Pumps, a 96-inch diameter reinforced concrete wet well, and a 96-inch diameter reinforced concrete storage basin. Associated construction involves installation of about 1,634 linear feet of 8-inch PVC sanitary sewer force main and fittings, with excavation, bedding, backfill, and asphalt patching as needed. A new manhole will connect the new lift station to the existing sanitary sewer system and tie into the City's wastewater treatment plant. Additional work includes a concrete slab for the wet well and storage basin, installation of site chain link fencing and access gate, placement of #57 stone bedding and 825B stone driveway, site grading, and all required electrical and control equipment. The existing 12-inch gravity sewer line being replaced by the new system will be capped and abandoned. Clearing and grubbing will be performed at the new lift station site to remove vegetation, scrub trees, and stumps as required for site preparation. The completed project will improve pumping efficiency, reduce excessive power consumption, and mitigate the risk of sewer overflows caused by inadequate lift station capacity. The project is funded through the Alabama Department of Environmental Management's Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) Project No. CS010849-01 as Contract #1.
