Renovation of an educational facility in Raleigh, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The project consists of selective demolition and replacement of the existing roof and exterior envelope systems. Work includes removal of the existing low-slope modified bitumen roofing, insulation, and coverboards down to the existing steel roof deck, patching deck openings as required, and installation of a new low-slope roofing assembly including thermal barrier, R-30 tapered polyisocyanurate insulation, gypsum coverboard, and a two-ply modified bitumen membrane. At steep-slope roof areas, the scope includes removal of existing rooftop solar arrays (coordinated with the Owner), associated electrical and communications systems, and the existing standing seam metal roof and thermal barrier down to the steel deck, followed by installation of a new roofing system consisting of a thermal barrier, R-30 rigid polyisocyanurate insulation, gypsum coverboard, self-adhered high-temperature underlayment, standing seam metal roof, and associated flashing and trim. Outrigger and soffit work includes removal of existing metal wall panels, perforated soffit panels, subgirt framing, and cavity insulation, and installation of a new foamed-in-place insulation air barrier, galvanized steel subgirt framing, standing seam metal wall panels, and flush seam soffit system. Bidding Documents include this Invitation to Bid, and the following attached forms: sample contract, Sales Tax Report, School Access Requirements, MBE forms, Board of Education Policies, and Contractor Bid Response form. The bidding documents may also include the plans and specifications, and any Addenda issued prior to receipt of bids. All requirements and obligations of the Bidding Documents are hereby incorporated by reference into the Contract Documents and are binding on the Successful Bidder upon award of the contract. Each Bidder, by submitting his Bid, represents that he has read and understands the Bidding Documents and his Bid is made in accordance therewith.
