Site work and new construction of a water / sewer project in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Completed plans call for the construction of a water / sewer project.
The proposed work consists of constructing a new barge mooring facility with tri-tube mooring dolphins along the Black Warrior River. The entire project must be completed in 180 calendar days, which includes 120 days for procurement and 60 days for construction. The contractor is required to perform work amounting to at least 30% of the total contract cost with their own organization. Instructions to bidders include submitting bids on complete original proposals made available by the owner. A cashier’s check or bid bond for 5% of the amount bid (maximum of $10,000.00), payable to the City of Tuscaloosa, must accompany each bid. Proof of all applicable licensures and insurance coverages will be required prior to award and commencement of work. Bid documents (including plans and proposals) are available for a refundable deposit or as a digital version by request. The right to reject any or all bids and to disregard any minor irregularities is reserved by the owner. Minority business enterprise/disadvantaged business enterprise participation is encouraged, though no specific goals have been established. The project is federally funded and subject to federal and state regulations, including minimum wage rates and nondiscrimination provisions.
