This includes providing safe electrical clearances, supporting reliable system operation, and preserving access along transmission line rights-of-way by controlling vegetation growth within the existing maintained wireway. The Work is intended to maintain the existing wireway and does not generally include widening of the right-of-way unless otherwise directed by the Corporation. The Work will primarily consist of maintenance brushing within the existing transmission wireway, including the removal of brush, shrubs, and trees. The brushing program includes work along the following transmission lines: L170 - Whitehorse to Carmacks L171 - Aishihik to Takini Substation L173 - Carmacks to Minto Landing Substation L176 - Mayo to Stewart North L177 - Stewart North to Callison Substation L174 - Minto Landing Substation to Pelly Crossing Substation L178 - Carmacks to Faro L355 - Otter Falls to Hains Junction L356 - Faro to Ross River Specific work locations and quantities are identified using milestone ranges and map documentation provided in Appendix 5 - Maps and Technical Reference. The estimated total program includes approximately 451 transmission spans of vegetation maintenance. All work shall be performed in accordance with the Appendix 8 - YEC Brushing Specifications, applicable safety, Yukon regulatory requirements and YEC operational and environmental standards. This Request for Proposal is intended to establish a two-year Vegetation Management Contract. Proponents shall provide pricing for both Year One (2026) and Year Two (2027) as outlined in Appendix 4 - Price. In addition to the transmission wireway brushing described above, YEC may direct the Contractor to perform additional vegetation management work during the term of the Contract. Proponents will therefore be required to provide unit pricing for Danger Tree and Hazard Tree removal, as well as hourly rates for labor and equipment that may be used to complete additional vegetation management work, including work on the distribution system.
