The scope of work is for snow plowing, grounds care, and athletic field care at Columbia School District properties from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2028. Snow removal must be completed for all buildings when school is in session and before scheduled activities, with first priority status given to the district. Locations include the Middle/High School, Elementary School, Upper Elementary School, and Options School. Snow removal includes all sidewalks, driveways, and parking lots, with salting as needed. Grounds care includes mowing lawn/turf areas to 3 inches, weekly string trimming, chemical weed control, periodic edging, shrub and tree trimming, spring and fall cleanups, and debris removal for the same locations but excludes athletic fields, fertilizer, and seeding. Athletic field care includes mowing, string trimming, infield dragging and chalking, debris removal, litter cleanup, and specific field event area maintenance for baseball, softball, soccer, football, and track & field areas. Instructions to bidders include: attendance at a mandatory pre-bid meeting is required to submit a proposal; bids must be sealed and received by the specified deadline; bids should provide itemized and bundled costs if bidding on multiple services; required attachments include the bid sheet, insurance copies, terms and conditions, a familial relationship disclosure form, and an affidavit of compliance; bids must be signed by an authorized company representative; all work must be performed safely and in accordance with school district policies and legal regulations; proof of current insurance is required; references from comparable work within the last three years must be provided; and background checks for contractor employees will be conducted. No employees with felony convictions or listed on the Michigan sex offender registry may perform work on school district properties.
