Renovation of a museum in Huntsville, Alabama. Completed plans call for the renovation of a museum.
The project includes DC Building Façade Renovations at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama. The scope of work will include the removal of the existing glazing from curtain walls and doors. New glazing will be added along the east and north façade. Alternates 1 and 2 include a landscape refresh and new stairs, handrails, and concrete flatwork. Bidders must submit a cashier’s check or bid bond payable to the Alabama Space Science Exhibit Commission in an amount not less than five percent of the bid, but not more than $10,000, for bids of $100,000 or more. Performance and Payment Bonds, evidence of insurance as required in the bid documents, and Builder’s Risk insurance will be required at contract signing. Bids must be submitted on proposal forms furnished by the architect or copies thereof. Bidders exceeding amounts established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed and must display their current license number on the outside of the sealed envelope containing the proposal. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if deemed in the owner’s best interest. Attendance at a mandatory pre-bid meeting is required.
