The bids for this project were rejected. This project will rebid at a later date that is still to be determined. The project is located within the community of San Ardo and includes improvements along College Street, Center Street, Godchaux Street, and the intersection of Cattlemen Road. The general work description for the Community of San Ardo School Connections Project includes but is not limited to construction of curbs, curb ramps and sidewalks, cold planning asphalt concrete, placement of hot mix asphalt, clearing and grubbing, traffic striping, flashing beacons and lighting. Such other items or details, not mentioned above, that are required by the Construction Plans, Standard Specifications, Standard Plans, or these Special Provisions, shall be performed, placed, constructed, and/or installed. The Engineer's Estimate for the construction cost is $2,340,000. The Contractor awarded the Contract shall begin work when authorized by the County of Monterey. This work shall be diligently prosecuted to completion before the expiration of 60 WORKING DAYS beginning on the date listed on the issuance of the "Notice to Proceed". Liquidated damages are $5,200 per calendar day and accrue starting on the 1st day after the expiration of the working days and as specified in section 8-1.10. A bidder's bond, issued by an admitted corporate surety company in an amount equal to at least ten percent (10%) of the amount bid, must accompany the bid. The successful bidder shall furnish a payment bond and a performance bond each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract. The County reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding.
