Renovation of a transportation facility in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Completed plans call for the renovation of a transportation facility.
The work consists of a mechanical upgrade for the Transit Maintenance and Repair Building - East High Bay. Major components include demolition of old HVAC equipment and patching roof openings, offloading pre-purchased Tempeff dual core heat recovery units (HRUs), installation of new roof-mounted HRUs connected to the natural gas system, provision of ventilation at a rate of 1.5 cfm per square foot, supply air distribution at the middle of the G Track, and exhaust air at high level along the north and at high and low levels along the south of the G Track. New CO and NOx sensors will be installed and connected to the existing monitoring system. The sprinkler system will be modified to accommodate the new equipment. Digital controls will be provided and tied into the existing JCI Metasys system according to City of Winnipeg standards. Electrical work will supply power to new mechanical loads. Structural upgrades are required to support the HRUs. Existing infrared heaters will be removed and replaced. Roof hydrants will be installed for maintenance of roof-mounted equipment. The contractor is responsible for coordinating rebate applications for HRUs and infrared heaters to Efficiency Manitoba with the equipment suppliers and crediting the rebate to the city.
