The work consists of the installation of approximately 500 linear feet of water main and five service reconnections. Bids must be sealed and accompanied by a 5% bid bond or certified check. Contractors must be licensed and insured to perform work in Wisconsin. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive informalities, and accept the bid deemed most advantageous to the City. Work includes, but is not limited to: o Saw-cutting of existing pavement (approximately 500 linear feet). o Excavation and trenching (approximately 10 feet wide by 500 feet long) to a depth of approximately 6.5-7 feet. o Installation of City-furnished water main pipe, valves, and hydrants. o Reconnection of five (5) existing water services to the new main. o Proper trench bedding, backfilling, and compaction to 95% Modified Proctor density. o Restoration of roadway including base course and temporary and/or permanent asphalt patching. o Coordination with City staff for water system shutdowns and reconnections. o Cleanup and restoration of disturbed areas. The City has developed preliminary budget estimates for portions of this project.
