This survey will first ask about capital projects generally before discussing specific projects. 2) If the City could only fund some of these projects, please choose up to two that you would like to see funded first: Replacement of the Anderson Outdoor Pool Bike and pedestrian network improvements (beyond current investments) A combined Parks and Public Works maintenance facility A new Civic Center with City Hall and Police headquarters Acquisition of parks and athletic fields at closed school sites (Kullerstrand and Wilmore-Davis) for continued community use Proactive infrastructure maintenance 3) One option for raising revenue for capital improvements is a 1% sales tax increase ($1 on a $100 purchase) that would raise approximately $11 million annually. Would you support or oppose a 1% sales tax increase for capital improvements? Another option for raising revenue for capital improvements is a 10-mill property tax increase that would generate approximately $8.4 million annually, at an estimated additional cost of approximately $375 per year for a home valued at $600,000. Some neighborhoods are flooding after heavy rains. Should they alone pay for storm drainage? Our city staff are spread across multiple owned and leased locations. Shouldn’t it befit us for them to all be under one roof? Is it time to invest in our infrastructure or is it time to safeguard our savings and as we struggle at the gas pump or produce store, maybe the city should slow down its spending? ----------------------------------------------------- The City of Wheat Ridge is seeking proposals from qualified multidisciplinary consultant teams to provide professional planning, public engagement, design, and construction documentation services for the replacement of the City’s existing outdoor community pool at Anderson Park. The new facility should offer a modern aquatic environment for residents of all ages and abilities, support recreation and aquatic programming, and reflect community priorities through a comprehensive public engagement process. All pool-specific infrastructure, including components within the existing building, is included in the scope. The City also aims to expand staff offices and storage space through this design. The adjacent building, renovated in 2018-2019, has ongoing issues with water supply, sewer lines, electrical, heating, and air conditioning; bid submissions should include alternate estimates analyzing and designing recommended improvements for these systems. The selected consultant will lead a structured planning and design process, including concept development, community engagement, schematic design, design development, cost estimating, and preparation of final construction documents suitable for bidding and construction. Consultants responding to the RFP must provide a detailed approach to the scope, a work plan, a schedule, a staffing plan, and a fee proposal for delivering the outlined services.
