Description

Site work for a water / sewer project in Savannah, Georgia. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

Provide construction services for maintenance dredging of the Savannah Inner Harbor, including furnishing all personnel, transportation, mobilization and demobilization, equipment, and materials necessary to remove up to approximately 5.6 million cubic yards of maintenance material using a hydraulic cutterhead dredge. Work includes dredging of multiple channel sections and turning basins with varying depths and widths, including recurring dredging at Kings Island Turning Basin to support large vessel navigation. The contractor shall coordinate with other ongoing harbor activities, transport dredged materials, and place them in designated upland confined disposal areas in accordance with project requirements. Operations must comply with environmental restrictions, including seasonal dredging windows for species protection, dissolved oxygen limits, and special handling procedures for sediments that may contain elevated cadmium levels. The contractor may encounter and remove obstructions within dredging limits, provide necessary dive operations, and furnish equipment for obstruction removal. The base effort includes mobilization/demobilization, maintenance dredging, relocation of equipment, diving services, and obstruction removal, with optional work for handling cadmium-contaminated sediments and placement of capping materials.
