Foothill Transit currently contracts out the monitoring and maintenance of compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling equipment and dispensing stations (collectively, CNG fueling stations) at its two Operations and Maintenance facilities located in Arcadia and Pomona, California. The CNG fueling stations are used by Foothill Transit's service contractors to fuel Foothill Transit's fleet of 286 CNG buses. Foothill Transit also leases real property adjacent to its CNG fueling stations for the operation of two public access CNG fueling stations (one adjacent to each Foothill Transit O&M facility). Foothill Transit is issuing this Request for Qualifications No. 26-069A (RFQ) seeking submittals from qualified firms or individuals to participate in a subsequent Request for Proposals (RFP) for the following: i. All design and construction services necessary to upgrade the CNG fueling stations at Foothill Transit's two O&M facilities; ii. Monitoring and maintenance services for the upgraded CNG fueling stations; iii. Lease of real property for the operation of two public access fueling stations; and iv. Monitoring and maintenance services for the legacy CNG fueling stations during the design, construction, and installation phases of the upgrade work. The scope of work is described more fully in Part II of the RFP. This RFQ is the first phase in the procurement of a design-build contractor in accordance with California Public Contract Code 22160-22169. This RFQ will pre-qualify and/or shortlist design-build entities for the second (RFP) phase of the procurement.
