Sealed bid proposals are requested from licensed General Contractors for the Hoover High School Theater Lighting Upgrade. A cashier's check or bid bond payable to Hoover City Schools in an amount not less than five percent of the bid amount, but not more than $10,000, must accompany the proposal. Performance and Payment Bonds and evidence of insurance as required in the Bid Documents will be necessary at contract signing. Bids must display the General Contractor's License Number and Type on the outside of the bid envelope; otherwise, the bid will not be accepted. A mandatory pre-bid conference will be conducted at the project site, and attendance is required for all General Contractor Bidders wishing to submit a proposal, with attendance also recommended for Subcontractors. Bid documents will be distributed electronically (PDF) by the architect, and bids must be submitted on forms provided by the architect or copies thereof. Contractors bidding above state-established amounts must be properly licensed as required by Alabama law. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors. No bid may be withdrawn for sixty days after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids. SCOPE DESCRIPTION: a.
