The work consists of providing all personnel, equipment, materials, transportation, mobilization, and demobilization necessary to perform maintenance dredging of the Brunswick Inner Harbor as part of the Brunswick Harbor deep draft navigation project. The effort is traditionally performed using a hydraulic cutterhead dredge and includes removal of up to approximately 500,000 cubic yards of maintenance material from federally authorized channel areas. Dredging is anticipated primarily in the East River, including the East River Turning Basin and associated transition areas, with additional work potentially required in the South Brunswick River, Brunswick River, and Lower Turtle River when shoaling becomes problematic to navigation. Material will be dredged to a project depth of 36 feet Mean Lower Low Water, including designated areas of advanced maintenance, and all dredged material will be hydraulically pumped and placed in the Andrews Island Dredged Material Containment Area, the only confined upland disposal site in the Inner Harbor. Work must account for environmental restrictions, including limitations on placement activities at Andrews Island during the Least Tern nesting window between mid-April and mid-August, and operations are typically conducted in late summer or fall. The anticipated period of performance is approximately 120 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed.
