Sealed proposals are sought for the re-roofing of Saks High School Gym. Bidders are required to visit the site to examine all existing conditions prior to submitting their proposals. All general contractors must have general liability and workman's compensation insurance, and the project is to be bid excluding taxes. Bids must be submitted on forms provided by the architect. A certified check or bid bond equal to five percent (5%) of the bid (not to exceed $10,000) must accompany each proposal. Performance and payment bonds will be required at contract signing. Contractors bidding above the state threshold must hold a valid license as per Alabama law, with the license number clearly displayed on the proposal envelope. Only documents obtained through the architect's specified process are valid. Requests for printed documents must be made to the architect, and print sets must be returned in reusable condition within ten days after bid opening. All RFIs and RFAs regarding the bid documents must be submitted via email using forms in the project manual; telephone or fax inquiries are not accepted.
