Carrollton Utilities is soliciting sealed bids from qualified contractors for the replacement of five existing valves on steel natural gas distribution mains. The project area is along or near the U.S. Highway 42 corridor. Four valve locations are within Carroll County, Kentucky, and one is within Gallatin County, Kentucky. The valves to be replaced are: two low pressure 2-inch valves, one high pressure 6-inch valve, one high pressure 3-inch valve, and one high pressure 2-inch valve. The contractor must provide all labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals necessary to complete full replacement of all five valves. The contractor is responsible for the means and methods for valve replacement, including any in-service construction techniques, subject to approval. All work must be performed while maintaining continuous gas service; interruptions to the natural gas distribution system are not permitted unless expressly authorized. Proposals must be labeled with the proposer's name and "Gas Valve Replacements 2025" on the outside of the envelope. The project will be awarded based on the lowest and most qualified bid. The OWNER reserves the right to waive any informality or reject any or all proposals. No bidder may withdraw their proposal within thirty consecutive calendar days after the opening date.
