Work of this proposed Contract comprises building construction, site development, and demolition, including general construction, structural, and electrical work. All work shall be furnished in strict accordance with the bid documents as prepared by Wilkins Architecture Design Planning, L.L.C. The work consists of removal and replacement of concrete entrance plaza at the Hall Student Union on the Central Community College, Hastings campus.++Work includes removal of concrete slabs and footings at entrance plaza and adjacent monument sign and replacing with new concrete flat work, precast stairs, stainless steel handrails, new monument sign and associated grading, landscaping and electrical work.Alternate bid for removing concrete at seating area and replacing with prefabricated aluminum trellis system and new outdoor furniture. Bids are to be signed, under seal, executed, dated, and submitted for the furnishing of all labor, materials, and equipment for the Hall Student Union Plaza Replacement at Central Community College - Hastings. The General, Mechanical, and Electrical work will be under one bid. All subcontractor quotations shall be sent to the General Contractor. Bid security is required with the bid proposal form in the amount of 5% of the lump sum bid amount, payable to Central Community College. Acceptable forms include cashier's check, certified check, or bid bond issued by a surety licensed in Nebraska; AIA Document A310 for bid bonds is required. Any agent signing on behalf of the surety must attach a power of attorney evidencing the authority to bind the surety. The contractor must furnish acceptable performance bonds to complete the work and pay for all labor and materials used, with bonds in the amount of 100% of the total contract amount, using AIA Document A312 for performance bonds. Prior to the start of work, completed copies of the Certificate of Insurance (AIA Document G705) must be submitted to the owner and architect. The contractor is considered a purchasing agent for the owner and, under statute 77-2702, does not pay sales tax. A mandatory pre-bid conference for general contractors is required; meeting attendance is strongly recommended for major subcontractors. Perform the work within the time stated under the work sequence in Section 01 1000 - Summary. The bidder, in submitting an offer, accepts the contract time period stated for performing the work. The completion date in the agreement shall be the contract time added to the commencement date.
