Resurfacing and related work on Newtown Road, Mill Road, Harvard Road, and Beaver Brook Road, to be performed as necessary under the direction of the Awarding Authority personnel at selected sites throughout the Town of Littleton. The scope of work consists of milling approximately 16,000 square yards of bituminous concrete road surface, reclamation and grading of approximately 4,200 square yards of bituminous concrete roadway, adjustment of castings, sweeping of streets, approximately 3,500 linear feet of monolithic asphalt berm, tack coat, and supplying and placing approximately 4,500 tons of bituminous concrete pavement in a binder, leveling and finish course and related work in preparation of paving. Sealed proposals must be submitted and must include bid security in the amount of 5% of the bid. Electronic copies of the plans, specifications, and proposal forms will be available for prospective bidders. Minimum Wage Rates as determined by the Commissioner of the Department of Labor and Industries apply to this project. A performance bond and a labor and materials bond in the full amount of the contract will be required of the successful bidder. The Town of Littleton reserves the right to reject any or all bids wholly or in part and accept any bid or part thereof in the Town's best interest. Pre-qualification requirements: Each prospective bidder proposing to bid must be prequalified by MassDOT in accordance with 720 CMR 5.00 'Prequalification of Contractors.' MassDOT prequalification of contractors with the class of work as Pavement/Surfacing, for the project with an estimated value of $625,000.00 will be required.
