Parks and Recreation Activity Center Gymnasium Floor Replacement. The project is for the replacement of the gymnasium floor at the Castleton Parks and Recreation Activity Center, located at 47 Mechanic Street, Castleton, Vermont. The company will provide the following services: 1. Site Preparation. a. Remove approximately 4,600 sq. ft. of existing tile and properly dispose of debris. b. Scrape and/or sand mastic off the slab and any other general surface preparation. c. A moisture mitigation system should be applied to the slab prior to floor installation. 2. New Floor Installation. a. Install a new approximately 4,600 sq. ft. long-lasting, seamless, synthetic, shock-absorbing gymnasium floor with game lines. Preference is given to floors that can eventually be resurfaced to extend its longevity. b. If baseboard is necessary, it should be included in the bid; if it is not needed, please specify. c. All aspects of installation not covered in this document (specifications) should meet current commercial industry standards. 3. Coordinating Instructions. a. Colors to be determined at time of bid approval. b. The contractor will provide all materials, equipment and labor for completion of the entire projec c. Upon completion, all trash and equipment from the project will be immediately removed from the facility and Town property; including dust, dirt, etc. in and adjacent to the gymnasium that originated from floor demolition. d. Coordination is required with the Town Manager and Parks & Recreation Program Coordinator and Facilitator on daily work to minimize disruption of daily operations. The Castleton Parks and Recreation Activity Center is open Monday thru Sunday. Activities normally conducted in the gymnasium will be suspended during the duration of this project. e.
