The project is an improvement initiative to convert the currently vacant parcel at 430 S. Washington Street into a new park. The scope includes connecting the new low flow walk along the south bank of the West Branch of the DuPage River from the Washington Street Bridge to the Moser Covered Bridge, approximately 200 feet to the southeast, as well as providing a connection to the Washington Street sidewalk, approximately 125 feet to the west. The extended walkways will be designed for barrier-free accessibility in accordance with ADA standards. The project will create interconnected public gathering spaces, install landscaping with a mixture of trees and shrubs, and enhance the area with lighting and irrigation improvements.
