The work consists of providing all equipment, labor, materials, and incidentals necessary to perform corrective maintenance and improvements to a 500,000-gallon aboveground water tank. The scope includes performing a dry interior cleanout to remove sediment; installing an anti-vortex plate on the suction line; installing a cable-type safety climb device on the shell ladder; posting a confined space entry sign at the primary roof hatch; adjusting, calibrating, and lubricating the existing liquid level gauge; installing a thermometer on the tank; replacing the existing PVC overflow pipe with a complete steel overflow system including standoffs, flapper valve, and screen; installing two open coil element heaters; installing sacrificial anodes on the interior shell; installing an owner-provided lock on the primary roof hatch; repairing cracks and spalling using a commercial non-shrinking grout; pressure washing the tank exterior with an antifungal solution; installing a fall protection required sign near the base of the shell ladder; installing a frost-proof drain valve with an owner-provided locking device; replacing the bolts on the primary shell manway with maintenance-free galvanized steel bolts; cleaning the area around the anchor bolts, tightening the anchor nuts, tack welding the nuts to the bolts, and repainting; and cleaning the exposed foundation and sealing or painting it to protect the concrete.
