The selected firm will assess the system's condition, capacity, and reliability, and provide recommendations for any necessary repairs or improvements. Services anticipated include: review of as-built drawings, historical records, and maintenance logs; site inspection of mechanical, electrical, and structural components; hydraulic capacity analysis under current and projected flow conditions; determination of air relief valve needs; evaluation of the adequacy of the lift station pumping unit for future school needs; compliance assessment with applicable codes, standards, and regulations; development of prioritized recommendations for repair, rehabilitation, or replacement; and preparation of cost estimates for recommended improvements. Instructions to bidders: Responding firms must be licensed in North Carolina, have experience in wastewater collection system evaluation and lift station design, and staff with civil, structural, electrical, and mechanical engineering expertise. Submittals must include: cover letter, firm background and relevant experience, resumes of key personnel, approach to evaluating lift stations, experience handling bidding of public projects, at least three references (preferably public agencies and school systems), and proof of licensure and insurance.
