Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in West Chicago, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a road / highway; and sidewalk / parking lot.

The work consists mainly of roadway resurfacing, watermain replacement, lead water service replacements, sewer repairs, and concrete flat work. The work is to be performed on and along York Avenue, between its west dead end and Oakwood Avenue; Garden Street, between Washington Street and Grand Lake Boulevard; Virgie Place, between Oakwood Avenue and Ingalton Avenue; and Ingalton Avenue, between Washington Street and Grand Lake Boulevard. The net length of roadway improvements is approximately 5,740 feet (1.09 miles) within the City of West Chicago in DuPage County. The project includes, but is not limited to, pavement milling, hot-mix asphalt (HMA) binder and surface course installation, 8” ductile iron water main and water main services installation, manhole structure repair and adjustments, sewer pipe spot repairs, intermittent PCC curb and gutter removal and replacement, intermittent PCC sidewalk removal and replacement, sidewalk ramp ADA panel installation, parkway/ditch restoration, thermoplastic pavement markings and all incidental and collateral work necessary to complete the project as shown on the plans and described. Bid proposals are to be made on the forms provided and submitted in a sealed 9”x12” or 10”x13” envelope, marked with the project name and the bidder’s name. Bids must be accompanied by a bid deposit in the amount of 5% of the bid, in the form of a bid bond (IDOT form 12230 or equal), certified check, or cashier’s check payable to the City of West Chicago. The successful bidder must furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the bid amount. Registration in the System for Award Management (SAM) is required, with proof of active registration provided with bid submittals. All contracts are subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act. Minorities and Women Owned Businesses (MBE/WBE) are encouraged to submit bids. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bid proposals, to waive any informality, and to accept the proposal most advantageous to the City. This project is partially funded by Community Development Block Grant funds and all grant requirements must be followed.
