In general, the Deer Park Region Paving Project consists of grinding existing asphalt, overlaying with new pavement, dig outs, and crack sealing. Other work includes replacement and/or repair/cleaning of storm drain culverts, striping and pavement markings, sign placement, and protecting existing utility covers and monuments. The project is located in the Deer Park Region of Napa, CA and will rehabilitate approximately 8.7 miles of roadway in the area from the intersection of Deer Park Road and Silverado Trail in St. Helena to the intersection of N White Cottage Road and Howell Mountain Road in Angwin. Background The roads included in the Deer Park Region Paving Project (Deer Park Road, White Cottage Road, College Avenue, and depending on pricing, Sanitarium Road and Glass Mountain Crossroad) have deteriorated over time due to normal wear and tear and require asphalt replacement to address pavement failures. Roads in the Deer Park and Angwin Region, primarily Deer Park Road, are heavily used by commuters; working hours may be adjusted to reduce impact. These roads are primary routes for agricultural trucks during harvest and as such, work involving lane closures on Deer Park Road must be completed no later than August 15th. No bid will be considered unless it is made on a blank form furnished by the Napa County Engineer and is made in accordance with the provisions of the proposal requirements and conditions set forth under the Standard Specifications of the State California, Department of Transportation, except as modified in the above referred to Special Provisions. Each bidder must be licensed as required by law at the time the contract is awarded. The contractor and any subcontractors shall be registered with the State of California Department of Industrial Relations (Public Works Contractor (PWC) Registration) at the time of bid opening. This work shall be diligently prosecuted to completion before the expiration of sixty (60) WORKING DAYS beginning on the date shown on the Notice to Proceed.
