Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Wheaton, Illinois. Completed plans call for the demolition of a service station / car wash facility; and industrial development.
DuPage County Division Of Transportation - DuDOT HMF The work consists of complete demolition of the existing building on site and construction of a new Pre-engineered Metal Building (PEMB) including concrete, masonry, carpentry, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection. Additional site work includes detention basin earthwork, site utilities, and asphalt paving. The project is for new Division of Transportation facilities on the DuPage County campus, including the HMF Facility, HMF Yard and storage, Salt Building, Wash Building, Fueling station, Parking Garage Lobby/Elevator, North ring road improvements, Fairgrounds Restroom facility, and Fairgrounds Parking lot improvements. The scope includes mass grading, site utilities, existing structure demolition, environmental abatement, CIP concrete, precast concrete (structural & architectural), masonry, structural steel, carpentry, general trades, millwork, roofing, metal facade, aluminum systems and glazing, HM/wood/FRP doors and frames, overhead doors, flooring, tiling, painting, finishes, fabric tensile roof structure, fueling dispenser/tanks/canopy, elevators, fire suppression, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, low voltage, solar renewable energy systems, fire alarm, landscaping, and stormwater planting specialist. Sealed lump sum bids are to be submitted electronically according to the Instructions to Bidders; no hard copy bids will be accepted. Bid security in the amount of 10% of the bid is required. Bidders must be properly licensed and able to obtain necessary insurance and bonds for the work. The successful Contractor must provide a Performance Bond, Labor and Material Payment Bond, and Insurance within ten days of notification of award. All contractors must comply with the Prevailing Wage Act, provide required certifications, and complete the Vendor Ethics Disclosure Statement. Qualification documentation (AIA Document A305) is to be submitted either with the bid or within 48 hours if a low bidder. The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids and to make awards in the best interest of the Owner. All bids must be valid for at least sixty days from the bid opening. The work is to be completed within the contract time specified and is subject to liquidated damages. The AIA Document A701, "Instructions to Bidders," is incorporated by reference and included within the project manual. Questions may be submitted until April 15, 2026, 4:00pm. Any questions received after this time will not be responded to.
