Bids received after the appointed time will be time stamped and marked as late and will not be considered in the evaluation Bonding: Each Bidder shall submit a bid bond, in an amount of not less than 5% of the total bid amount (including all possible alternates), to the Division of Purchasing, prior to the bid closing date and time. Acceptable forms of Bid Bonds: 1.) Original bond (on a city approved bond form) or a certified check, payable to the City of Columbia. 2.) An Electronic Bid Bond, provided by Surety2000.com, as verified by an elevendigit code which is generated by the Surety2000 system and provided by the Bidder in the Bidder's bid submission. Bid bonds, regardless of the format, must be issued by a surety company authorized to conduct business in the State of Missouri, and carrying a rating of A-6 or better as listed in the A.M. Best or equivalent rating guide. The bid bond shall guarantee good faith on the part of the Bidder, to enter into contract within thirty (30) days at the price bid, if accepted by the City. The successful bidder will be required to furnish separate performance and payment bonds each in the amount equal to 100% of the contract price at the time of contract execution. Accepting Bids: Bids may be held by the City for a period not to exceed 150 days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of evaluating bids prior to award of contract. The anticipated Notice to Proceed for this project is spring 2026 and the City expects construction to be completed by early summer 2026. The City reserves the right to select the bid item or items which best suits its needs, whether the price is the lowest or not, and also reserves the right to reject all bids and/or waive informalities. All requests for information shall be submitted to the Engineer no later than April 17, 2026, 12:00 pm CST as per Adda 2. Pre-Bid Conference. A Pre-Bid Conference will be held 1:00 P.M.
