Site work for a water / sewer project in Jordan River, British Columbia. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The Ministry of Environment and Parks (BC Parks, West Coast Region) is seeking proposals from qualified contractors to complete remaining trail and infrastructure repairs along the Juan de Fuca Marine Trail within Juan de Fuca Provincial Park on Vancouver Island. This project is being delivered under the Disaster Financial Assistance Arrangements (DFAA) program in response to the October 2024 atmospheric river event, which produced record rainfall and widespread flood and slope damage across the region. The event caused multiple landslides, washouts, and structural failures, leaving several sections of the 47 kilometre Juan de Fuca Trail impassable. The proposed works represent Phase 2 of the DFAA recovery effort and build upon the previously procured Phase 1 contract (CP26SIS024), which focused on a defined subset of priority sites to reinstate safe and continuous public access along key portions of the trail corridor. Phase 2 is intended to address all remaining DFAA eligible sites identified in the 2025 engineering assessments prepared by Onsite Engineering Ltd. and Parsons Ltd. that were not included in Phase 1. The scope of this contract has been developed to ensure there is no duplication of work between Phase 1 and Phase 2.
