Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Linden, New Jersey. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and road / highway.
The scope of work includes roadway improvements to Watson Road and Graybar Terrace, including Belgian block curb, concrete curb, concrete sidewalk, drainage improvements, milling, paving, as well as all other work necessary for completion of the project, including other miscellaneous locations throughout the Borough, whether or not specifically described in the contract documents. All work must be completed within ninety (90) calendar days from notice to proceed. Instructions to bidders include: - Bid Packet must be completed as designated in the contract documents, enclosed in a sealed envelope with name and address of the bidder and the project name on the outside, and addressed to Borough Clerk of the Borough of Fanwood. - Bid Packets must be accompanied by a Statement of Consent of Surety from a company authorized to do business in New Jersey and either a Bid Bond or Certified Check to the order of the Borough of Fanwood for not less than ten percent (10%) of the total bid price, not to exceed $20,000.00. - Performance and Payment Bonds for the full amount of the project are required from the successful bidder. - The contract will not be awarded unless necessary funds have been provided lawfully by the Borough and the New Jersey Department of Transportation. - Vendors suspended, debarred, or disqualified are excluded from participating. - The successful bidder must comply with statutory requirements including N.J.A.C. 17:27, N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq., Business Registrations (N.J.S.A. 52:32-44), Prevailing Wage Act (N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.25 et seq.), Public Work Contractor Registration (N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.48), Affirmative Action Requirements (N.J.S.A. 10:5-1 et seq.), and other applicable legal requirements. - The Borough intends to award the project to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, provided the bid is reasonable, within available funds, and in the Borough's interest. The Borough reserves the right to reject any or all bids as permitted by law. - Bids are irrevocable for sixty (60) calendar days after opening, unless otherwise extended.
