A timeline for the award has not yet been established.** The Galena 2024 Event PL84-99 Flood Repairs Project consists of storm sewer repairs at two locations in Galena, Illinois, including the intersection of Green and Water Street (Repair Area 1) and an area near the intersection of Hill and Water Street (Repair Area 2). Work will be performed on public roadways and within city sewer easements. Repair Area 1 includes construction of a new manhole at the existing intersection of a pressurized storm sewer line and a City-owned 30-inch storm sewer. Repair Area 2 includes installation of a new connection between City-owned structure MH-86 and Corps-owned structure MH-89 using a new 24-inch reinforced concrete pipe storm main. The existing brick manhole MH-86 will be removed and replaced with a standard concrete manhole. At both repair areas, the Corps-owned pressurized storm sewer line will be abandoned and filled with grout from the headwall to the new work locations, and two damaged headwalls will be removed.
