Project A involves the replacement of approximately 130 linear feet of full width concrete pavement from the existing concrete seam to the center of the existing cul-de-sac on Deepwood Lane, from Residence No. 369 to Residence No. 365 in the Hidden Valley Subdivision. This includes removal and disposal of the existing concrete roadway apron to the north, forming new curb and gutter, filling the void with suitable embankment material, seeding, and mulching. It also requires removing and replacing two catch basins, some driveway replacement, and installation of a 3-inch aggregate roadway base. Project B consists of replacement of approximately 300 feet in length by 144 feet wide concrete roadway on Deepwood Lane from Residence No. 312 to Residence No. 318 in the Hidden Valley Subdivision. This project also includes some driveway replacement and a 3-inch aggregate roadway base. All labor, material, and equipment must meet the specifications of the Ohio Department of Transportation. Work performed shall be under the supervision of the Lorain County Engineer. Contractors are required, to the extent practicable, to use Ohio products, materials, services, and labor. Compliance with the equal employment opportunity requirements of Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 123 is required. Prevailing wage rates as determined by the Ohio Department of Commerce must be observed. Only bids prepared on official documents from the County Engineer's office will be accepted. A non-refundable $50.00 check or money-order is required for each set of bidding documents. Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond in accordance with Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code. Bid security must be provided by a Surety Company or Corporation licensed in Ohio. Each proposal must contain the full name(s) of persons and companies submitting the proposal, enclosed in a sealed envelope marked accordingly. The Board of Trustees reserves the right to reject all proposals and to waive any informalities or irregularities if it is deemed in the best interest of Amherst Township to do so. Any interpretation, correction, or modification to the specifications must be requested in writing at least four working days prior to the bid opening. Any interpretation, correction, or modification to the specifications desired shall be in writing to the Amherst Township Trustees' Attention Christine Kish, Fiscal Officer, 7530 Oberlin Road, Elyria, Ohio 44035, and must be received at least four (4) working days prior to the date of bid opening.
