Site work and paving for a road / highway in Butternut, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway.
The project involves the HMA surfacing of 3,960 feet of Chippewa Lake Road (from Boness Road toward County Line Road) and 2,587 feet of Weinberger Road (from Boness Road to Witte Road). Work includes preparing the road for paving, shaping and compacting the existing gravel surface and base, adding a 2 1/2-inch lift of HMA to the finished base, and all necessary traffic control and incidental items to complete the work. The finished roadway will be 21 feet wide. Major quantities include 2,150 tons of Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA), preparation of the foundation for asphalt paving, traffic control, and incidental items. All procedures, work, and materials must conform to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation Standard Specifications, 2025 edition. Engineer certification as per Wisconsin DOT Local Road Improvement Program is required if the project is over $65,000, including a ten-year certification. The contractor will be responsible for compliance if a prevailing wage rate determination is ordered. A W-9 and Certification of Insurance from the successful bidder must be received prior to the commencement of the project. The Town of Chippewa reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids or parts thereof, waive any information in the bidding process, and to accept the proposal or portion deemed most advantageous to the Town.
