Demolition and site work for a sidewalk / parking lot in Watseka, Illinois. Completed plans call for the demolition of a sidewalk / parking lot.
The project is a flood mitigation demolition project requiring asbestos remediation, demolition of structures, removal of debris, and the grading and seeding of two properties: 607 N Market St and 509 E Oak St, Watseka, Illinois. Written reports of asbestos inspection results will be provided. Contractors must register to obtain contract documents and submit a sealed bid reflecting the aggregate cost and separate costs for each property. Bids must be submitted by hand on original city forms, including completed contract documents and bid security, executed by an authorized representative. A cashier's check, certified check, or bid bond (AIA Document A310) for at least 10% of the bid amount is required. Successful bidders will need to provide a performance bond and a labor and material payment bond for the contract price. The work must comply with the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, and all contractors and subcontractors must adhere to wage, notice, record keeping, and equal opportunity requirements. Certified payroll records are required prior to payment. Businesses owned by minorities, females, and persons with disabilities are encouraged to participate. All required DBE forms must be included in the bid. A mandatory site walk-through is scheduled, and only those present for the walkthrough will have access to the buildings. The city may cancel, modify, reject, or postpone any part of the bidding process at its discretion.
