Road Name: Widen Sawgrass(Sr869) S of Nw8th to Sunrise Blvd (Mp0-0.5) Limits: 86000371 Total Roadway Length: 5.807 Miles Contract Days: 1211 Total Bridge Length: 0.156 Miles Total Proposal Length: 5.963 Miles Contract Execution Days: 10 Special Start Date: N/A Aquis/Flexible Start Time: 30 Description: Work consists of providing all labor, materials, equipment and incidentals necessary for widening a 0.50-mile segment of the Sawgrass Expressway from south of NW 8th Street to Sunrise Boulevard (MP 0.0 - MP 0.5) in Broward County from six to ten travel lanes. Construction includes pavement widening, milling and resurfacing, widening, maintenance of traffic plan, new stormwater treatment facilities, new bridge structures (northbound SR 869), bridge widening (southbound SR 869), signing, pavement marking improvements, lighting, and ITS communications. No Pre-Bid Conference. Contractor must be prequalified. Question Deadline 05/06/2026 at 5:00 PM ET, Direct all questions to the Department by posting them to the Department's website. Questions posted to this site before 5:00 P.M. (EST) on the tenth calendar day prior to the bid opening, will be responded to by the Department. For questions posted after this deadline, an answer cannot be assured. A Proposal Guaranty of not less than five percent (5%) of the total actual bid in the form of either a certified check, cashier's check, trust company treasurer's check, bank draft of any national or state bank, or a Surety Proposal Guaranty made payable to the Florida Department of Transportation must be received for each bid in excess of $150,000.00. A 100% Payment and Performance Bond will be required for all projects. All work is to be done in accordance with the Plans, special Provisions of the State of Florida Department of Transportation.
